DistroShift Solo

Start with Discovery. Continue with Solo.

Solo is for businesses with up to 5 staff. It is available at no cost under DistroShift's current commercial model. Every new account begins with a 14-day Discovery experience where all features and add-ons are available. After Discovery, the account moves to Solo. Core Solo remains available, and paid add-ons become optional — you only enable what your business actually needs.

The reality of running a business

The week does not run itself.

Most managers spend hours each week on admin that does not move the business forward. Rosters get rebuilt. Timecards get chased. Leave gets juggled. Records get pulled together at the last minute. And the questions from staff, accountants or inspectors always come at the worst time. DistroShift is built to take that weight off managers, so they can spend more time leading their team and serving customers.

How we build

Built from real conversations.

Every feature in DistroShift starts the same way: by listening.

We spend time where the work actually happens. Pharmacy counters before opening. Hospitality venues preparing for service. Pub cellars after closing. Clubs during the weekend rush.

Those conversations become ideas.
Those ideas become features.
That’s how DistroShift is built.

“During an early pharmacy demonstration, a manager immediately recognised the value of seeing unavailable staff before creating the weekly roster.”

That observation changed how roster planning is presented throughout DistroShift. One example of how practical feedback shapes the product.

Real businesses. Real working days. The roadmap is not built in isolation. It is shaped by conversations with hospitality managers, pharmacists and business owners tackling real operational challenges every day.
Pharmacy: an early focus.Pharmacy is one of our earliest focus sectors. The operational insight we are gaining is already improving rostering, leave management and day-to-day workflows across the entire platform, not just for pharmacies.
You talk to the people building itYou work directly with the founders and the people building DistroShift. Your feedback does not disappear into a support queue — it helps shape what comes next.
The week, end to end

From the first roster to the last record, on the same setup.

Rosters, timecards, leave, compliance records, payroll handoff, What's On and DistroShift Intelligence all read from the same staff, role, department and location data. Managers stop stitching the week back together from spreadsheets and messages, and start running it.

Meet Distro · DistroShift Intelligence

Every venue gets its own mind.

Distro is the AI operator built into DistroShift. Not a chatbot bolted on the side — one consistent character who reads your rosters, trading, leave and tips, and tells you what matters this week in plain English. The same Distro runs at every venue. What makes yours yours is memory: Distro learns how your venue actually trades and remembers it, so the advice gets sharper every week.

Start Your First Shift

One Distro, many memories

Anyone can generate a forecast. What no one else has is years of knowing that your Fridays start slow and finish slammed, that you keep labour under 30% of sales, or that the match crowd never shows before half seven.

Distro carries that context into every roster, every briefing, every nudge — the way a great multi-site GM walks into each room already knowing its history.

Distro's Intelligence dashboard with the Distro Says briefing card, a 71% Forecast Track Record from 10 of 14 scored days, venue stats, and Suggested Roster Actions.
The 14-day briefing

Every week, a plain-English read on the fortnight ahead — which days look busy and why, how it compares to last year and recent weeks, and specific staffing calls per day.

The weekly review

How the venue actually ran last week: trading, labour efficiency, tips health, and a short watch-list for the days ahead. The report a seasoned GM would write.

A nudge when it counts

Distro surfaces the single most useful thing right now — a leave request sitting over a day that’s tracking busy, cover running light before a big Saturday — before it becomes a problem.

Suggested actions

When a day needs more cover, Distro proposes it and you apply it to the roster in a tap. Distro advises; you decide; nothing is written without you.

Your goals, not generic advice

Tell Distro what the venue is working toward — “hold labour under 30%,” “grow midweek covers” — and it orients every suggestion around them.

It learns from you

Mark a call too high or too low and Distro calibrates. Rate how a day actually went and the forecast gets more accurate over time.

Built to be trusted

Distro never invents numbers — if the data isn’t there, it says so. And it never sees your people: staff appear to the AI only as anonymous codes, never names. Your venue’s context stays your venue’s.

Distro knows the rules

Curated, versioned knowledge of Irish employment law, built into the agent prompts.

  • Organisation of Working Time Act 1997
  • National Minimum Wage & rest breaks
  • PPS obligations

What's On

Know what's on before your customers walk in.

For venues where local events drive footfall, DistroShift adds a live 14-day horizon of sports fixtures scored by likely staffing impact. From the URC semi-final to the All-Ireland Final, it helps you plan ahead instead of reacting late.

14-day staffing signal

Every upcoming fixture is matched against your sport interests and scored by likely footfall impact: HIGH, MEDIUM, LOW, or NEUTRAL. Each day shows the top event, broadcast channels, and a suggested staffing delta so your roster is built around what's actually happening.

  • 26 competitions across football, rugby, GAA, golf, horse racing and more
  • Broadcast channels (RTE, TG4, Sky Sports, Virgin Media) shown per fixture
  • Auto-refreshed twice daily from live sources
14-day event calendar showing URC and FIFA World Cup fixtures with risk ratings

A display screen for your big TV

Put the schedule on the wall. The display screen shows tonight's fixture, coming attractions, and a scrolling specials ticker on a TV-ready board that auto-refreshes every 5 minutes. Share one URL, done.

  • Live clock, venue name, fixture details and broadcast channels
  • Customisable specials ticker for promotions and kitchen hours
  • Past fixtures expire automatically, with no manual cleanup
For Solo venues

What's On for Solo venues can include sponsored local content— local business spotlights and community partner features — so neighbourhood businesses can support each other. An ad-free / sponsored-free path may also be available as an add-on.

Meet the founders

Built from the work, not from the whiteboard.

I started DistroShift because I was tired of seeing good businesses lose too much time to admin, compliance, staff records, scheduling and paperwork, with too little time left for the people and customers in front of them.

Hospitality rootsBuilt with operatorsNow shaping more sectors

I spent more than 20 years working in hospitality, including over 12 years in management, and I saw the same problem week after week. Too much time was going into administration, compliance, staff records, rosters and paperwork. The jobs that were meant to support the business were pulling attention away from actually running it.

I watched managers spend hours chasing timesheets, correcting records, sorting leave, updating staff details and stitching everything together from spreadsheets, messages and memory. That is time you never get back. I wanted a better way to keep control of the week without adding another layer of hassle.

That is when I teamed up with Wayne Comerford. Wayne brings more than 25 years of experience delivering technology, operational improvement and business transformation programmes across global organisations. Between us, we wanted to build something practical: software that solves real operational problems and holds up in day-to-day use.

We started with hospitality because that is where I knew the pain best. But it did not take long to see the same pattern elsewhere. Pharmacies, clubs, leisure venues, retail businesses and other service businesses all deal with the same pressure around staff management, compliance, communication, training and day-to-day control.

Today we are working closely with live venues, pharmacists and club operators to keep improving DistroShift around the real needs of modern workplaces. We are not building around theory. We are building around what owners, managers and teams actually need to get through the day well.

For me, that is what DistroShift is about: helping businesses spend less time buried in admin and more time backing their teams, serving customers and building something better.

Straight answers

Questions owners ask before they trust a new system.

Is DistroShift only for venues that distribute tips?

No. Tipping venues can use fair tip distribution, staff statements and tip records. Non-tipping venues can switch that off and use rosters, timecards, leave, tasks, employment records and accounts handoff.

Does DistroShift process payroll?

No. DistroShift prepares verified worked hours, leave figures and corrections for your accounts process. Payroll remains with your accountant or payroll system.

Can DistroShift guarantee WRC compliance?

No software can guarantee compliance on its own. DistroShift helps venues keep WRC-ready operational records, leave calculations, audit trails and evidence references easier to maintain and explain.

Who is DistroShift for?

Irish venues with shift-based teams: pubs, restaurants, cafes, hotels, pharmacies, salons, leisure venues, golf clubs and similar workplaces with staff rosters, time records and leave admin.

What does it replace?

For many small venues, it replaces a messy combination of spreadsheets, WhatsApp messages, paper notes, manual leave trackers and ad-hoc accounts handoff emails.
